How I Lost Weight Without Dieting
Mexican sculptor Victo Hugo Yanez Pina named this creation Self-Made Man. He definitely wanted to make a statement about the obesity pandemic that is silently spreading over the western world and beginning to emerge in other countries as well. Statistics in the United States report alarming figures about the ever-increasing number of overweight people (70 % of the population) and almost half of it even officially obese people (30 %).
But the sculpture also emphasizes that it is time to do something about it.
Determent as he is, the man is sculpting his ideal body shape in a hard and painful manner. It does not have to be that way.
There are ways to reach the desired result and to stay in that shape by redefining your life. Read my story here.
WE KNOW THE ROOT CAUSE, DON'T WE?
It is our western lifestyle. The American Standard Diet, but it is not the food alone. There is a lot of elements that enhance each other. Processed foods with long expiration dates, convenience food, low nutrition fast-food, decreasing nutritional value of the fresh foods we still consume, social pressure, information overload, stress, lack of movement and exercise, dehydration, sitting too long which causes all kinds of stagnation in our body processes. Not to mention that we also live in a world with an increasingly toxic environment in soil, water, and air. And even inside our homes, we are not toxins-free. About that later.
OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY ARE MAJOR HEALTH RISKS
If people tend to make the impression that they don't care about their body shape.
I WAS THERE AND DECIDED IT TO BE ENOUGH
Ten years ago I was overweight on the edge of obese (216 lbs; 98 kg). I knew it was not healthy and that I run risks. But for a very long time, I had lived a health-unconscious life, ignoring the signals. The risks became fully clear, my wife died from lung cancer, I stopped smoking. I had high blood pressure and my cholesterol was critical. After a visit, the cardiologist let me out with 5 different drugs. I was 64 years old at that time and life was good.
